As co-founders Stephen Bass and Michael McClatchey explain, 'We've always had an attachment to the 7" as a format. Releasing 7"s was how we started out and doing one-off's has a kind of instantaneous charm that appeals to us. We find something we like and we can have it in the shops on a nice-looking piece of vinyl within a matter of weeks. Doing the singles club has given us an opportunity to work with a whole range of wonderful artists we wouldn't otherwise have dealt with. And for that reason it will always have a special place in our hearts".When Damien DeRose turned eighteen, he dropped out of school, packed up his guitar, and bought a sailboat in California with a friend. The plan was to sail down the coast and let the wind dictate the pace. However, life took a different course and while the ship may not have left the harbour, DeRose found himself on a new journey, writing and travelling across the US and Europe. A captivating home-recorded debut was released - "Fear Not Distant Lover", a collection of delicately lo-fi folk/pop songs, and Peasant became the moniker.In 2008, Peasant signed with Paper Garden Records, released his first studio album entitled, "On The Ground', had many US shows feature his songs and toured the world sharing the stage with Cursive, Delta Spirit and Deer Tick playing at South By Southwest and the Montreal Pop Fest Released in the UK and Ireland in 2009, the album reaped rich praise.

Alongside the album itself, the reissue features bonus tracks including B sides to the single releases and rarities from the period, the videos for the three singles, including 'Baggy Trousers’, one of the most watched, recognised and famous pop videos of all time, and a second disc featuring a BBC Live recording of the band from their Hammersmith Odeon headline show of 23rd December 1980.Sharp eyes will note that the reissue also retains the original releases’ two different cover versions, from the same shoot outside Chalk Farm Tube Station.

The musical layers are deep, creating a very rich tone to their sound. Other standout tracks include 'Light of LoveТ and 'Reach OneТ each of which canТt help but put a spring in your step each time you listen. '1000 Crazy NightsТ is another stomping track Ц and surely a potential future single? 'Love Violent LoveТ is another frantic, yet dramatic number that again soars as it delievers another killer chorus. ItТs not all up tempo tracks though Ц 'Goodbye EverybodyТ is a mellower piano led number that really takes you back to Karen Carpenter.Music Go Music deserve to go far Ц there is nothing current that fits in their space, and with summer around the corner this is the perfect soundtrack.Perhaps not R n B in the purest form, but that aside this is a good collection of modern 'urbanТ tracks along with some slightly older numbers The likes of Ke$ha, Alicia Keys, Chipmunk, Cheryl Cole, Lady GaGa (RnB??) and JLS represent the current music scene The slightly more retro stuff comes form the likes of Ciara, Kelly rwoland (where is she now), Pussycat Dolls, Nelly and Amerie Special mention for the inclusion of Celeb Big Brother contestant Sisqo with his 'Thong SongТ Sexy? You decide!!.
